If you are currently a Culinary Director or an Executive Chef for a Group of Restaurants or high end Catering in Canada, along with extensive knowledge and experience across a broad range of culinary venues then this is the perfect role for you!

We are looking for a solid Culinary Director to lead and manage the Culinary division of a very successful and well known Restaurant Group in British Columbia. This is a very senior post and only those who meet with all mandatory requirements below will be considered.

Our client prefers an Executive Chef who has extensive experience in large scale catering, with focus on contemporary cuisine. A strong focus on the front and back of the house management is also crucial for this role.

We seek a creative, innovative and visionary Executive Chef who is knowledgeable in all levels of dining experiences and lead their team to the highest performance.

Other important responsibilities for this role also include; developing innovative menus that also includes seasonal menus throughout the year, and support their culinary teams at different restaurant venues. Extensive experience in various styles of menu development such as, a la carte, buffet, plated, etc. will be a valuable asset.

Important Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:

Minimum 8-10 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Group Culinary Director in a large volume catering or a well known restaurant group will be ideal for this role.

Ability to work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and a large kitchen staff to ensure the food quality, consistency and presentation.

Manage the entire F&B staff ensuring superior service and proper sanitation in all areas under his/her responsibility.

Stays current with all restaurant culinary and dining trends.

Proven track record in taking cuisine standards to the next level with meticulous attention to detail.

Solid knowledge and experience in West Coast themed food and contemporary cooking styles.

Comply with all statutory and internal requirements in matter of hygiene and food safety.

Develop and train the team.

Create, develop and implement creative ideas to stimulate the business.

The individual should be capable of preparing forecasts and budgets.

Capable of organizing and running the Culinary Department in compliance with established company brand standards and policies.

Development of employees in effective controls, labor cost, HACCP, quality, personalized service and salesmanship.

Qualifications:

Education in culinary management from an accredited institute or university.
