Captain for Rhine & Danube

Responsibilities:

• Practicing GCCL values
• Ensuring safe navigation
• Maintaining and upkeeping of the ship according to existing laws and regulations
• Ensuring that cleanliness and condition of the sundeck, as well as pollution prevention measures, are being upheld
• Deploying and supervising nautical crew
• Maintaining and upkeeping of the safety and firefighting equipment
• Providing safety training and familiarization
• Issuing ‘Permits to Work” as required
• Cooperating with hospitality department as well as company’s regional offices
• Any other duties advised by Nautical and Technical Superintendent or Captain

Skills/Qualifications:

• Holding Rhine and Danube license required

• Sufficient experience in the field of desired position, preferably on the river cruise ship
• Proven leadership abilities and excellent communication skills
• Fluency in English and German
