One of the fastest growing International companies, with brands ranging from 4-5 star luxury hotels seeks an experienced
Director of Development
responsible for their Hotel division in SE Asia. This position reports to the COO and Head of Development of the Asia Pacific region.
The Director of Development will help lead the expansion of the group and will be integral to the implementation of the development strategy for the group’s expansion in SE Asia. Hence, you must have a proven track record in development in SE Asia within an International hotel company; spanning city centers, luxury resorts and hotels. Our client seeks someone who can not only make introductions, but also help finalize the purchase and management agreements.
The candidate will identify and evaluate economically viable new projects for management contracts, as well as new investment or joint-venture projects. Negotiate with local government, owners and joint-venture partners for management contracts, as well as new investment in all countries in South East Asia.
As an integral member of the company’s executive team, the candidate must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity and discretion.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6-8 years of practical business development experience in International hospitality groups, particularly in SE Asia.
- Experience in identifying and analyzing strategic initiatives to pursue new business opportunities.
- Must be flexible and willing to travel extensively in SE Asia.
- Experience in developing relationship with various owners, including property developers, investment funds and Government organizations, and generate leads for management’s further evaluation.
- Proven track record on recognized development and conversion opportunities.
- Solid background in hospitality business development team to bring in and follow up referred deals.
- Preparation of presentation, conference materials and reporting.
- Research, collect, consolidate and compile relevant market information on major land and property transactions (feasibility).
- Maintain contact with industry players to solicit leads and necessary advisory information.
- Fully conversant in terms and conditions as to negotiate favorable agreements.
- Conversant in running projections and analyzing best business model.
- Recognized university degree.
